SPEEDWAY SLIDING ON TO MAVTV

MAVTV has teamed with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Europe to become an official multi-year broadcast partner for FIM Speedway World Championship racing. As the official broadcast partner for the next three years, MAVTV will kick off its 2024 season coverage with the FIM Speedway GP of Croatia on April 27.

“Our American fans have a huge passion for the sport, and I am delighted to confirm they will be able to watch every lap of the 2024 season on MAVTV,” says FIM Speedway World Championships director Laura Manciet. “As a network that covers such a wide range of motorsport, MAVTV is the ideal platform to bring FIM Speedway to viewers who may not have experienced the sport before, as well as introducing our loyal fans to MAVTV’s extensive range of live action and motorsport documentaries.”

The broadcast package includes the 2024 FIM Speedway of Nations live from Manchester, Great Britain July 9-13. Team USA, led by FIM North American Champion Luke Becker, has already qualified. “The USA has an incredible history in Speedway GP, and the future looks bright with Luke Becker showing good speed when he made his Speedway GP debut in Torun last September,” adds Manciet. “We look forward to bringing the 2024 season to MAVTV viewers from April.”

Fans will also have access to the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship series (SGP2) and the FIM Speedway Youth World Championship (SGP3). “I know there is always real interest among our American fans in watching the racing live, so it’s great to welcome MAVTV on board,” says four-time Speedway GP world champion Greg Hancock. “I’m sure fans back in the States will be keen to follow the USA team’s progress in Manchester from July 9-13 as they chase their first FIM SON Final appearance. I hope everyone watching from back home enjoys the racing on MAVTV!”

MAVTV President CJ Olivares is delighted to bring live coverage of the prestigious Speedway GP series into American homes. “This long-term partnership underscores MAVTV’s dedication to being at the heart of motorsports culture, providing our viewers with the world’s best racing experiences. We’re excited to offer live coverage of every thrilling round, connecting millions of US fans directly to the high-speed excitement and drama of speedway racing…

“For die-hard fans or those new to the sport, MAVTV is where the action is,” Oilvares concludes.
