RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH THE SAME OLD MISSION:

The National Powersports Dealer Association (NPDA) celebrates five years of bringing dealers together. To facilitate its mission to elevate dealers to be well prepared, sustainably profitable and exceed the expectations of a growing customer base, NPDA accelerated into the New Year with newly installed officers and an expanded Board of Directors. Vice Chair Jayson Davis was unanimously elected to serve as Chairman, succeeding Bob Kee (who in turn slots in as immediate past chair). Jay Goodart is the new Vice Chair and founding Board Member Kim Harrison retains her role as Secretary Treasurer for one more year before terming out.

“Jayson has done a commendable job representing the association as Vice Chair, co-emcee of our DealerConnect Networking Event and spearheading a number of critical initiatives,” notes outgoing chair Bob Kee. “You have my assurances dealers are in good hands,” quips Kee, noting he will still be available to assist the executive committee in his new role as Immediate Past Chair.

“I believe NPDA’s purpose is to promote and protect the industry in all aspects… period,” says Davis with his customary candor. As a vocal advocate for NPDA membership among his peers, Davis brings a wealth of experience and a consumer’s perspective, spanning 30 successful years in the profession and 45 years as a consumer.

Newly elected Vice Chair JayGoodart has been involved with NPDA since 2021 and a member of the H-D Council since its inception. “I believe the NPDA can bring the whole of the very fragmented powersports industries together. This will cut a path moving forward to allow for consistent growth and continuity between the various manufactures, vendors and dealers — similar to the RV and automotive industries.”

Kim Harrison is a founding Board member and has served as Secretary/Treasurer since the Association’s beginning. Even after all the formative teething pains, Harrison still believes in the mission: “Associations do for us what we can’t do alone.” Kim’s dedication marks her as a leader, paving the way for a united and successful powersports community. From the OG leadership role provided by the longest-serving member of the executive committee to the newest member of the Board, Michael Maledon, the shared desire to elevate fellow dealers rings true in the new year. As NPDA membership increased past 400 members, the bylaws called for more dealer representation. Elway Powersports CEO Maledon joins the new officers for a two-year term on the Board. However, this is not his first stint in a leadership role: At Elway Powersports he has led the company’s expansion to five rooftops representing 19 leading franchises since launching the venture in 2021. He joined the Elway Dealership Group as a partner in 2017 after serving as a senior executive with the Van Tuyl Group, then the nation’s largest privately owned auto retailer with more than 100 franchises.

The new officers were installed at the first Board meeting of the 2026 calendar year. Interested in becoming an NPDA Board Member? “Elections are held annually or whenever we have a vacant seat,” says new chair Davis. “Come join us because we are always better together.”
