AMA MEMORIAL DAY MESSAGE

This Memorial Day, May 31, the American Motorcyclist Association extends its deepest appreciation to the armed forces personnel who gave their lives in service to the United States. "Many Americans have died in defense of our country and Memorial Day is a special time to honor the dedication and sacrifice of those who perished while securing and preserving our freedoms," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman.

Throughout the holiday weekend Americans take to the road, traveling to memorial events, gatherings and getaways to be with family and friends. The month of May is recognized nationwide as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the AMA urges motorists to be particularly aware of motorcycles in traffic and on highways.

"Sobriety when driving or riding is crucial at all times, but with celebrations taking place everywhere, it is especially important to ensuring a safe holiday weekend for those who are travelling," Dingman said.
