ARRA CALL TO ACTION!

 

Protect your rights to recreate on public land! Americans for Responsible Recreational Access is warning the new BLM rulemaking is counter to the spirit of the law and definitely detrimental to future access. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has finalized its Conservation and Landscape Health rule… however the devil is in the details. BLM purports that the rulemaking is intended to "…establish a framework to ensure healthy landscapes, abundant wildlife habitat, clean water and balanced decision-making on our nation’s public lands.”

ARRA is concerned that the rule will fundamentally alter how BLM manages its lands through an approach never envisioned by Congress or the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (FLPMA).  As a result, ARRA supports legislation (H.R. 3397) that would bar implementation of the Rule. H.R. 3397, introduced by Representative Curtis (R-UT) would bar the new rule from having any force or effect.
