DRIVE SAFE DURING THANKSGIVING

American Motorcyclist Association Reminds Everyone to Drive Safely During Thanksgiving

The American Motorcyclist Association encourages motorists to watch out for motorcyclists — and other drivers — during the busy Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanksgiving travel, along with the hustle and bustle of Black Friday, equals busier roadways. Additionally, impaired and distracted driving become more prevalent during the holidays, putting all — especially motorcyclists — at risk.

“It’s still warm enough in some areas for great holiday riding,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “Additionally, many off-road and dual sport riders often use the holiday weekend to ride, and many use or cross portions of public roadways, so the AMA asks all riders and drivers to operate their vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.”

“Don’t allow holiday excitement to impact your ability to safely operate a vehicle,” Dingman added. “Don’t ride or drive under the influence, and remain focused on the road and the vehicles that occupy our nation’s roadways to ensure a safe holiday weekend for yourself and everyone.”

While we’re all being safer, let’s also celebrate the motorcycle lifestyle we all enjoy and thank everyone who protects our right to ride — and all those who make the riding community so special.
