What do AMA Hall of famers Mary McGee and Scot Harden have in common… other than really cool Hector Cademartori illustrations commemorating their respective careers? They are both in the ORMHOF Class of 2023! The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is proud to announce the Class of 2023: Jeff Cummings, Scott Douglas, Evan Evans, Helen Fields, Scot Harden, Mary McGee, Tommy Morris, Lee Sieck, and Russ Wernimont.
“So honored and humbled to be recognized by the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame for doing something that has been a passion of mine for over 50 years,” says Harden. “Thank you to everyone that has supported me throughout my career, to all the friends and family that have stood by my side through good times and bad, especially Kristi Harden. Of all the great things that have happened in my life she is at the top of the list. A true Hall of Fame partner and wife!”
From his first desert race to Dakar and now with the Handstands at 100 mph and Nevada 200 Rally, Harden has certainly been at the heart of it… However even he wasn’t a shoo-in. ORMHOF received more than 50 nominations to be considered for the Class of 2023. A committee of off-road industry professionals was convened to evaluate and review the submissions. At the end of a day-long discussion and review, a vote was taken by secret ballot, and the nine nominees who received votes from a minimum of two-thirds of the committee members were submitted to the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame board of directors for ratification.
The ORMHOF Class of 2023 will be celebrated at the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Gala presented by 4 Wheel Parts, on Saturday, September 9 at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada. More than 600 guests are expected to attend. Tickets, program ads, and sponsorship opportunities are available at:
