RIEJU GOES GREEN, LITERALLY

In addition to figuratively going green with its 1942 Legend line-up, Rieju looks to a literal future of EVs taking over the two-wheeled space. Oddly enough the clean, green machine unveiled at EICMA was not actually in the green livery like its gas-powered siblings. Irony aside, Rieju is serious about competition electric motorcycles.

Taking their top of the line MR competition model, Rieju presented the eMR at EICMA. “Showing a clear commitment to developing its Hard Enduro models and preparing them for the future, Rieju presented its new Electric eMR,” said U.S. importer Mark Berg. “It is a motorcycle that combines the virtues of one of the best Enduro platforms on the market with the silent running and zero emissions of its light and powerful electric motor.”

He adds that the range had to be addressed before the eMR could be considered a serious competitor. However with a 100 kilometer racing range and 60kw powerplant, Berg believes the eMR is a viable weapon in the woods. “It is designed with great battery range, which allows it to enter unexplored territories in a sustainable way, performing as an authentic Enduro competition bike.”
