“Labor Day serves as both a celebration of American workers and an opportunity to reflect on the economic challenges they face, including the effects of inflation and tariffs,” notes John S. Kiernan, WalletHub Managing Editor. In fact, 55% of people think inflation and tariffs are erasing their hard work, according to a nationally representative WalletHub survey.
In addition to being tariff-ied of the immediate future, Kiernan adds they are already working harder than ever to break even. “The survey says: Working harder for the money: 7 in 10 people say they’re working harder this year than last year. Worse, the WalletHub surveys reveals that nearly 3 in 5 Americans say they don’t have a budget for Labor Day spending. Guess that means selling them a new fully loaded UTV might be out of the picture this long weekend?
