RIP Ken Osmond who played Eddie Haskell on Leave it to Beaver. After his TV career, Osmond joined the LAPD and worked in Vice and as a motor officer, back when they cruised the City Of Angels on Moto Guzzis. In September 1980, Officer Osmond was shot three times in a foot chase after a car thief. Two of the bullets struck his bulletproof vest and the third ricocheted off his belt buckle.
He eventually retired from the force in 1988 after 18 years. The shooting was later dramatized in a November 1992 episode of the CBS series Top Cops.
He was 76. Vale Eddie Haskell.
