    Description:
    This position develops and maintains a dealer network to sell Kawasaki's line of vehicles by assuring fair and complete Kawasaki product representation in assigned area of responsibility. REGION INCLUDES: CT, MA, RI, and NY Duties and Responsibilities: Dealer Visits 
    • Travels within assigned territory to call on existing and potential new dealer prospects.
    • Solicits dealers for the wholesale of vehicles, parts and accessories.
    • Ensures dealership personnel are aware/taking advantage of all of Kawasaki’s dealer support programs.
    • Provides ongoing product and sales training to dealer network and confirms dealership personnel are participating in Kawasaki’s online training courses.
    • Travel to dealers with select demo models to both educate and experience riding with dealer staff while offering the latest product knowledge training.
    • Confirming Kawasaki’s brand identification and products are on display and are at least equal to any other brands carried.
    • Verifies that dealers operate and adhere to the policies set forth in Kawasaki’s Sales and Service agreement.
    • Attends corporate meetings, trade shows and supports local events within assigned territory.
    Marketing
    • Ensures dealership use of Kawasaki advertising materials and Kawasaki supplied co-op dollars.
    • Engages dealers in regional and national marketing programs.
    • Works closely with dealers on Kawasaki consumer lead management tools to help convert leads to retail sales.
    Reporting
    • Completes various reports, including expense reports, dealer call reports and field reports to the Senior District Manager help keep the corporate office in the loop regarding competitive information, market conditions and industry trends within assigned territory.
    Dealer Development
    • Prospects targeted areas within the district with a goal of a new dealer establishment and works closely with the regional Dealer Network Specialist.
    • Follows up with new dealer prospects that have reached out to Kawasaki and determines outcome.
    • Assists and advises new dealer prospects with Kawasaki’s application process and during startup process.
    • Initiates recommendations for dealer network improvement activities.
    Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college preferred; High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is mandatory; and minimum five years related experience and/or training in a sales environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.     The Outside Sales Representative will meet category objectives and overall sales revenue targets for its designated region. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling, merchandising, and maintaining inventory levels of products to existing and potential accounts. This position reports to the Powersports Sales Manager - East and allows you the flexibility to work from your home office and is based out of the assigned Territory. STATES INCLUDE:  Account Management: WI, MN, ND, SD with ideal candidate location living centrally in WI. COMPENSTATION:
    • $48-52k annual salary plus commission and a 20% bonus eligibility, with earning potential of over $100k.
    As the Outside Sales Representative, you will have an opportunity to: 
    • Make personal sales calls at established account base on a regular basis.
    • Maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly sales call and travel schedule.
    • Work with accounts to effectively manage inventory.
    • Conduct on-going product training with account staff.

    • Develop and maintain a sales forecast to help analyze market conditions and/or changes in assigned territory for maximum productivity and sales growth.
    • Implement a sales plan to support sales and profitability goals.
    • Stay current on existing and emerging product and technologies.

Prepare and implement group promotions and advertising activities with the Area dealer network. Encourage advertising participation and ensure Co-op funds are being utilized by the dealer network. Ensure dealers are utilizing Suzuki-branded fixtures. Provide merchandising and display advice to maintain a strong Suzuki product presence and image. Install any Suzuki décor material or program materials as provided in conjunction with current promotions. Achieve commitments for facility upgrades; display layouts and Suzuki identification to improve or provide a recommended Suzuki presence and image. Enthusiastically participate in Suzuki or Suzuki dealer-sponsored open houses, consumer shows, demo events, product displays and meetings. Learn and maintain a high level of Suzuki product knowledge. Prepare and implement product knowledge training to all Area dealership personnel annually. Train all Area dealers' personnel on Suzuki policies and procedures. Communicate all competitive sales activities to the National Sales Manager, both in written and verbal communications, as needed. Communicate all Area activities to the Sales Management team weekly, including recommendations and suggestions for improving the Suzuki effort. Prepare and submit all reports as per company policy in a timely fashion as directed by management. Operate company-provided equipment professionally, as well as keep all equipment in excellent condition.   Requirements Minimum three years outside sales experience with emphasis in retail sales in a motorcycle or related industry. Background in retail finance and dealer support/development is a definite plus. Extensive overnight travel required. Excellent selling and organizational skills required, along with effective written, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Ability to ride a Motorcycle and ATV product required. Must have a valid state-certified motorcycle endorsement on driver’s license. Must possess mobility to move wheeled motorcycles and ATV products, work in a standard or home office setting, and use standard office equipment, including a computer. Must be able to travel extensively throughout the assigned sales territory and attend meetings away from the employee's home city. Should have the strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
