  • Motorcycle Technician

    We are committed to providing the highest level of service in the powersports industry. For us, that means staffing knowledgeable full-time Technician that are passionate about the industry and ready and waiting to consistently deliver upon that commitment. The technician is responsible for performing inspections, diagnosis, repairs, maintenance, and installations efficiently and according to the dealership’s quality, safety, and time standards. Primary objectives include ensuring customer satisfaction and retention by fixing units correctly on the first visit. This role may also be required to provide support to entry-level technicians on an as-needed basis What you get to do every day:
    • The Technician will be responsible for achieving monthly and annual goals set by management
    • Perform pre-delivery inspections, routine tire changes, basic maintenance, and minor accessory installations
    •  Maintain a fix it right the first-time attitude while producing high-quality work with minimal comeback liability
    • Apply technical education while adopting best practices as outlined by the Service Manager and senior techs
    • Document work performed and recommended repairs on Repair Orders and checklists
    • Maintain an opening and closing regimen of cleaning and maintaining shared stations, including but not limited to battery stations, tire stations, and the shop floor
    • Monitor shop supplies and consumables such as fuel, oil, coolant, grease, wheel weights, etc. and proactively notify the Service Manager before supplies are depleted
    • Maintain a clean and organized dealership lot
    • Coordinate with Service Writer to stage jobs on deck for senior techs
    • Maintain minimum inventory of common tools to facilitate efficient and correct completion of assigned jobs
    • Tag and bag take off parts
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service bay
    • Appropriately use all safety devices and personal protective equipment
    • Comply with all company safety programs, rules, regulations, procedures, and instructions that are applicable
    • Other tasks as assigned by the Service Manager
    • Assist other departments as needed at the direction of the Service Manager and General Manager
    What you bring to the role:
    • 1-year experience as a technician/mechanic in an automotive or powersports service department
    • All necessary tools required to perform repairs and services
    • Ability to test ride vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
    • Hold a current, non-restricted, state-issued driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement preferred but not mandatory
    • Virginia State Inspector preferred but not required
    • Forklift experience preferred but not required
    • Common sense and willingness to learn
    • Ability to take and follow directions
    • Strong adherence to scheduling and punctuality
    Physical Demands, Visual Acuity & Working Environment:
    • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud
    • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
    • May be required to push and/or balance a 600 lb+ recreational vehicle
    • The ability to spend the majority of the day on your feet

    Powersports Store Manager – East Jordan The Store Manager of our Yamaha power sports dealership is responsible for overseeing aspects of the dealership's operations, including sales, service and parts. This leadership role requires a positive attitude with experience in the power sports or automotive industry. The Manager will be the company ambassador in the community and responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities: • Operational Leadership: Manage daily operations across sales, service, and parts departments, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and adherence to Yamaha standards and compliance. • Sales & Revenue Growth:  Help develop sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets for new and used power sports vehicles (e.g., ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, wave runners). • Team Management: Work with onsite service technicians fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. •   Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing escalated issues and maintaining high satisfaction ratings. •   Inventory & Vendor Relations: Oversee inventory management, negotiating to secure competitive pricing and product availability Northern Michigan's seasonal demands. Requirements: •   Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years in the power sports or automotive industry, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role (e.g., Sales Manager, Service Manager, or General Manager). Dealership experience is highly preferred. •   Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of power sports vehicles, market trends, and customer preferences in the Michigan region, including familiarity with brands like Yamaha or other manufactures. •   Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team. • Technical Proficiency: Comfort with dealership management software (e.g., Lightspeed, Dealertrack) and Microsoft Office Suite.  Familiar with (YDS) Yamaha Finance is a plus. •   Certifications: Valid driver's license required; power sports or automotive-specific certifications. •   Physical Demands: On site 5-6 days a week. Salary & Compensation: •  Base Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience •   Incentive Structure: Performance-based bonuses and commissions tied to sales targets, service revenue, and overall dealership profitability, potentially adding annually.
