HUMP DAY AT RALLYE DU MAROC:

As promised, Ricky Brabec bounced back into contention on Stage 2 of the Rallye du Maroc. Feeling confident after some bike adjustments, the Prologue winner was determined to recover from time lost on Stage 1. He delivered blistering through the dunes to finish second, 2’22” behind teammate, Tosha Schareina. Brabec’s consistency was rewarded, lifting him to third in the provisional overall standings.

“Stage 2 was a lot better,” said Ricky Brabec after racing himself back into contention at the Rallye du Maroc. “We diagnosed a few things after Stage 1 based on what I was feeling and man, it made a big difference! I enjoyed it a little bit more today, it was more high speed and kind of rolling navigation, so for me it was fun and I really enjoyed the day. We did a good job and me and Tosha Schareina are in a big fight right now, but it’s fun. There’s three days left and hopefully it’s more or less similar to today.”

“So bummed,” says the 2022 winner of this event. “At km104 of today’s Stage I had an issue and had to withdraw from the race. I had a really good stage going, and feeling really good on the bike…

“But this is Rally. I’m happy to be healthy and ready to work with the team for the Dakar Rally. Wishing the best for my teammates for the next few days, keep fighting!”
