Governors across the country have taken historic steps to protect the health and safety of people in their respective states. Part of protecting health and safety is allowing essential businesses to continue to operate during times of emergencies. While many of us think of off-highway vehicle use as just for recreation, these vehicles are used for daily law enforcement, search and rescue operations, and transportation for essential employees to get to and from their lifesaving jobs.
This is why we are urging you to contact your governor to use the DHS CISA GUIDANCE ON THE ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKFORCE as their definition for essential services.
Public health and safety will be protected if governors include motorcycle, ATV, ROV (side-by-side), and snowmobile repair and parts under essential services. Powersports facilities provide parts and service to enable law enforcement, military, and first responders to fulfill their critical missions. In many states they service vehicles for the police, fire, Department of Defense, Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and National Parks.
