Mason and his Chief Mechanic: Dad!
Kove came out of nowhere to have all three riders finish the 2023 Dakar Rally on the ultimate bargain bike when it comes to world rally specs. The Chinese company then made a bold statement in Milan showing off a customer version of the rally bike, but also 250 and 450 MX machines along with a race-ready appearing EV and a number of prototype roadracers and streetbikes. They also announced American Rally sensation Mason Klein will ride the new 2024 Kove 450 Rally EX and will have access to the factory technicians, parts and the factory support, but with the flexibility of his own program.
Kove Moto USA is not only supporting Klein’s Dakar campaign, they will be showing off the full range to U.S. dealers at AIMExpo (Booth #5160)… and maybe even Mason himself with some Dakar hardware. Klein made his mark on the Rally-Raid world with a breakout performance at his first Dakar in 2022 where he finished ninth. Mason went onto win that year’s inaugural Rally2 W2RC championship and lead a couple stages in 2023 before a big get off took him out of contention. On the eve of Dakar 2024 Klein says he and the bike are ready.
“I think the bike is ready to go,” Klein claims. “I really feel like I wouldn’t go there if I wasn’t there to win. Top 10 is the easy part; we already did that. My mom says “finish,” but last time I told my mom I wanted top 10 and we got it, so this time I’m saying I want to win…that’s the goal.”
