SIX DAYS ENDURO RE-SET

Team Mooch Reunion! Dealernews Off-Road Editor Charlie Williams and his trusty International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) KTM were recently reunited… Funny story about how Charlie tried to wrangle a media pass and ended up entered in the world’s most prestigious off-road race. Not nearly as funny is the fact that the 2020 ISDE has become another COVID-19 casualty. Like the EICMA and INTERMOT trade fairs, ISDE has succumbed to the virus as the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme has announced its decision to postpone the 2020 FIM International Six Days Enduro. The 95th edition of the annual off-road motorcycle competition had been scheduled to take place in Rivanazzano Terme, Italy, August 31-Sept. 5.

"Due to the uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic, the FIM’s decision to postpone the 2020 ISDE is the responsible thing to do,” American Motorcyclist Association President and CEO Rob Dingman said. “The ISDE is one of the most challenging and spectacular motorcycle competitions in the world, but it takes teams months to plan and prepare for getting personnel and equipment to the event’s host city. The uncertainty over international travel created by this pandemic has made that planning process practically impossible.

“The AMA extends its sincerest wishes for the rapid recovery of the people of Italy, who have been among the hardest hit by this crisis,” Dingman added. “We look forward to seeing our US ISDE Team defend the three titles they won in 2019 at the 2021 event in Italy.”

The U.S. ISDE Team claimed the World Trophy, Women’s World Trophy and Club division titles at the 2019 ISDE in Portimao, Portugal, and finished runner up in the Junior World Trophy Class.
