Request Removal of Products to Be Taxed by June 7; Request to Testify by June 10

June 10 is your last day to request to testify before the U.S. Trade Representative Section 301 Committee and help fight the devastating proposed List 4 China Tariffs. Items that the MIC successfully removed from previous lists, including helmets and small-displacement motorcycles and mopeds, have been added back to List 4. The proposed action would put a whopping 25% tariff on these and other goods from China, worth $300 billion.

“The proposed China List 4 includes essentially everything that is not currently subject to an additional 25% tariff on Lists 1-3,” said Schloegel, MIC senior VP, government relations. “Tariffs are taxes paid by companies and consumers in America and it is critical that you make your voice heard now.”

The MIC Government Relations Office also needs to hear from you on specific items that need to be removed from the proposed list and the reasons for removal. Please email Scott Schloegel (sschloegel@mic.org) by June 7, and include the specific HTS numbers you want removed from the 74 page list of items to be taxed.

To sign up and add your voice, click on this link and follow the instructions on page 2 under “E. Hearing Participation.”
