Since 1958, S&S Cycle has been closely connected to the builders, racers, tuners and innovators who have pushed motorcycle performance forward. The brand is bringing this heritage for high performance to the Builders Cup fueled by Drag Specialties at AIMExpo 2027. The Builders Cup will showcase motorcycles from selected builders inside The Builders Club, a dedicated show-floor destination connecting custom motorcycle culture with the manufacturers, distributors, dealers, media and powersports leaders attending AIMExpo, March 3–5 in Orlando, Florida.
The winner won’t be leaving Orlando empty handed. The Builders Cup honoree will not only take away bragging rights, but they will get a brand-new S&S powerplant! “Builders have been part of the S&S Cycle story from the beginning,” notes Howard Kelly, VP of Marketing at S&S Cycle. “They are the people willing to experiment, challenge convention, and find new ways to turn performance into something personal and The Builders Cup celebrates exactly that kind of creativity. Putting an S&S engine in the hands of the winner gives us an opportunity to recognize a great build, while helping fuel whatever they create next.”
Kevin Dunworth, AIMExpo Custom Motorcycle Curator, is helping shape the competition and its builder lineup. His involvement also draws on AIMExpo’s history with custom motorcycle culture, including its time as a qualifier for the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building and its Shop Invitational in Columbus. “I’m incredibly excited to bring The Builders Cup to Florida and back to AIMExpo — a show with a long history of supporting custom motorcycle culture,” Dunworth said. “From serving as a qualifier for the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building to hosting the Shop Invitational in Columbus, AIMExpo has consistently recognized the creativity and influence of custom builders.”
The Builders Cup motorcycles will be on display at The Builders Club throughout the show, giving attendees an up-close look at the builds and direct access to the creative minds behind them. “A great custom motorcycle makes you stop and look, but the best builds stay with you long after and that’s what The Builders Cup is all about,” concludes Andre Albert, Director of Market Expansion and Events for the Motorcycle Industry Council. “Having S&S Cycle provide an engine for the winner speaks volumes about the caliber of this competition and the builders behind it.
