TIME TO HEAD TO STURGIS…

Although the biker faithful have been flocking to the Mecca of the Black Hills since Pappy & Pearl Hoel, the local Indian Dealers organized some field events in Sturgis back in 1938. This year the folks at the Legendary Buffalo Chip are shaking things up! Instead of streetbikes in August, it is almost time for ADV bikes in July. “Join us for four days of friends, fun and world-class adventure riding in the backcountry and frontcountry routes of the Black Hills on July 14th-17th,” says Buffalo Chip COO Robert Pandya.

The Get On! ADV Fest at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip is the first of its kind event held in the Black Hills of South Dakota, bringing together adventure riders and off-road enthusiasts with leading OEMs and aftermarket companies for four days of events and rides. The schedule of events will include self-guided off-road riding, skills training, challenges, seminars, camping, entertainment and more. “Since 1981, the original destination that brought motorcycles and music together for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has become home to many,” Pandya adds.

“Attending the Sturgis Rally has become a tradition for many — one that now spans three, and even four, generations. Stories of grandpa’s exploits and even last year’s hijinks have become legends that are told and retold around a campfire and toasted with sweaty beers in the wee hours of hot August nights. The rally has changed significantly since 1938, but what brings bikers back year after year is the unashamed camaraderie of the motorcycle culture, the pervasive true biker experience and the friendly party atmosphere that brews up a rip-roaring good time.” Which should translate to the ADV crowd as much as it has appealed to V-Twin community all these years.
