Although the Rally doesn’t start for another week, Rod Woodruff and the crew from the Buffalo Chip — joined by U.S. Senator Mike Rounds and Attorney General Marty Jackley — are kicking things off this Saturday with the annual raising of the flags. The salute to Sturgis features 800 American Flags in the Freedom Field honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country.
Each August, the Chip hosts the world’s largest gathering of music and motorcycle enthusiasts, drawing visitors from all 50 states and over 20 countries. As one of the longest-running independent music festivals, the Buffalo Chip continues to redefine the Sturgis Rally experience with epic live performances, unforgettable motorcycle culture and exhilarating events.
Come for the flag salute, stay for the “The Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling” and “The Best Party Anywhere” at the Buffalo Chip — heart of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally since its establishment in 1981.
