STOP MAKING SENSE…

Trying to figure out what the surge of EV activity means to your business? Inverting the Talking Heads lyrics, the Motorcycle Industry Council will start making sense of the “Electrification Of Powersports, Part II” Symposium tomorrow, May 26. A continuation of last month's well-received EV event, the panelists return to take a deeper dive into the issues raised by the audience last time. “We have received a significant number of wide-ranging questions which will help Thursday's agenda,” says moderator Scott Schloegel, senior vice president of government relations for the MIC.

If you missed Part 1, you may want to watch the video for Schloegel’s update on the current state and federal policy and regulatory landscape (mic.org) as this overview is an important foundation for the discussion. This time returning panelists Laurence Kuykendall, Marketing Director, Energica Motor Company; Rod Lopusnak, General Manager, Triumph Motorcycles North America; and Dan Quick, Director of Communications, Zero Motorcycles will provide an understanding of how plug-in technology is affecting our industry. Galvanizing topics include:

• What challenges will powersports dealers face with the addition of electric motorcycles?

• What does battery development look like in 5 years?

• What are the OEMs doing to transition e-bicycle riders to e-motorcycles?

• How can manufacturers serve the industry by offering new aftermarket products, from high-performance electric motorcycles, ATV, UTVs to bikes and eScooters?
