Shooting Starr! “I am very happy and excited to announce that I have officially joined Yamaha Motor Finance Corporation (YMFC), as Director of Global Communications,” announces industry icon Bob Starr. “I am truly fortunate that I continue to have the drive, the energy and the passion and can bring additional knowledge and experience to this exceptional team of people with facilities around the globe!” Starr moves to YFMC from YMUS where he spent the past 35 years as Corporate Communications Manager (circa February 1992 – July 2026).
Even before the Yamaha gig, Starr was already a rockstar! He was National Advertising Director for the dearly departed Cycle World magazine in the early 1990s. Before the role with the world’s largest motorcycle magazine Starr served a stint as National Advertising Manager for American Suzuki, starting in 1982.
“What a wild and crazy time it’s been and eternally grateful for all those years,” Starr exclaimed some 6 months after celebrating his 34-year Anniversary with Yamaha. “Now it is time to charge ahead with YMFC!”
