SHIFTING GEARS AT MIC

Extra! Extra! Read all about it. Veteran moto journalist joins the Motorcycle Industry Council. With the hiring of Greg Drevenstedt as Media Relations and Communications Specialist, MIC has added nearly two decades of motorcycle industry media experience to its Communications team. The former Rider magazine editor-in-chief, Drevenstedt will focus on media outreach and content development while supporting communications efforts across the association.

Drevenstedt’s connection to MIC actually predates his new role. He flew the Rider flag at every AIMExpo since the inaugural show in 2013, giving him years of firsthand experience with MIC’s industry events and many of the companies the association serves. His connection to motorcycling stretches back even further: In 1998, he completed the MSF Basic RiderCourse and bought his first motorcycle, a used Yamaha he found in Cycle Trader. Through his work at Rider, Drevenstedt has ridden hundreds of motorcycles of nearly every brand, size and type, and across nearly every category, while also testing helmets, apparel and other products from many aftermarket companies. He worked his way up from Road Test Editor to Senior Editor and finally Editor-in-Chief in late 2020. In 2022, he became the Motorcycle Content Director, overseeing RiderAmerican Rider and Woman Rider (a female-focused website and newsletter).

Drevenstedt is already putting that experience to work for MIC and its members. On August 27, he joined Buckner Nesheim, MIC’s Director of Research & Statistics, during “MIC Symposium #32: What’s Driving Q2 Powersports Sales?” Tags: Motorcycle Industry Council, MIC, Greg Drevenstedt, Rider magazine, AIMExpo,
